Excerpt
from the booklet:
The first CD of the piano-duo TAKASE-SCHLIPPENBACH!
Of all the recordings made over the years that our piano duo
has been in existence, two live recordings from the years
1993 and 1994 have turned out, after frequent and critical
listening, to be musically the strongest and technically the
most accurate and were therefore chosen for this, our first
Duo-CD.
The first three compositions (…) were recorded on two full-size
Bechstein grand pianos on March 13, 1993 in the Gethsemane
church in Berlin and have been left in the same sequence as
that of the concert performance. The following ´Tales of Something´,
the Monk-medley with ´Mysterioso´, ´Ask Me Now´ (Aki Takase
solo), `Pannonica´(Alex v. Schlippenbach solo) and ´Evidence´
as well as ´Chapelure japonaise´ were recorded on December
9, 1994 during a public broadcast. (…)
We would like to express our thanks to the Jazz division of
DeutschlandRadio Berlin, and, in particular, Barbara Rüger,
for their helpful and willing co-operation during the production
of this CD. |
