April 1, 1966. Started to study piano when he was seven years old and obtained
a diploma at the Conservatory `G. Nicolini` in Piacenza. Attended jazz music
seminars in Siena from 1989 to 1991.
Since his early professional activity he was interested in improvisation.
In 1995, after collaborating with several musicians, he set up an improvised music trio with Tito Mangialajo, double bass player, and Carlo Virzi, drummer.
He played with musicians such as Alessandro Bosetti, Massimo Falascone, Wolfgang Fuchs, Thomas Lehn, Fabio Martini, Fabrizio Spera, Luca Venitucci, Gianfranco Tedeschi and many others.
He took part in festivals such as ´Controindicazioni´ (Roma 1997), Fringes 1998; ´Percorsi Poesia (Locarno '98) and ´Contemporaneamente´ (1999).
In 1997, with other musicians, he established the association ´Takla Improvising Group´ and in 1998 the independent label ´Takla Records´, both aiming at supporting and spreading the improvised music.
In 1999 he composed ´Il viaggiatore insonne´ ,a project about Italian poetry of the last fifty years, in collaboration with F. Martini and G. Locatelli. In 2000 he composed also ´Once it Was the Colour of Saying´, a work about Dylan Thomas poetry.
Since 1996 he's collaborating continuously with the clarinet player Giancarlo Locatelli.
